Nick found the ‘Ten Thousand Cents’ project by Aaron Koblin and Takashi Kawashima.  It is a super use of the idea of ‘crowd sourcing’.  What makes this project innovative is it’s novel use of scale.  If they asked ten thousand people to draw a sketch of a $100 bill it probably would have taken 10 times as long to get that many artists.  Not to mention that at the end of it they would have 9,990 crapy sketches and maybe 10 nice sketches.  But by increasing the scale and reducing the scope of the ‘ask’ it completely changes the perception of the project on the part of the participant.  I think there is a lesson in the there somewhere…
